My Family
Meet My Family
As much fun as the Cardigans are, my family is the most important part of my life.
I am very happily married to my Veterinarian-which has its advantages and disadvantages, I admit!
My children are all grown now, and on their own. I am very proud of them, and what they are accomplishing in their lives.
I am VERY happy to be the proud grandmother of three, and hope that I will be blessed with even more grandchildren in the years to come!
(Although there is no great rush on that, you guys!!)
The Miller Family Part One
Our eldest son, Richard, lives in Easton with his wife, Rachel, and their two children, Kody and Kaylee. It is wonderful having them so close; we have more opportunities to spoil the kids!!
Grandkids are GREAT!!!
I am amazed at how quickly Kody and Kaylee are growing up! It seems like yesterday that they were just toddlers; now Kody is in 4th grade and Kaylee is in 2nd! Both are very bright kids-- a tribute to the genetics, of course!!
(Who, Me? Partial??)
James C Miller
Meet my youngest son, James, and our non-corgi, Achilles!
Achilles was a rescue dog; his former owners brought him into the hospital to be euthanized; they just could not handle his chihuahua x jack russell terrier activity level! Gus brought him home, originally to be a companion for James.
However, James' living arrangements changed, and Achilles came home to us "temporarily"
He now rules the roost!
James and Maria
James and his "significant other", Maria, live in Harrisburg, PA- its close enough to visit, but not too close!!
Both James and Maria are working- all the time- and talking about going back to school "someday" !
Jessica and Amera
Our Baby has a Baby!
Daughter Jessica lives in Nebraska, with her absolutely adorable and darn near perfect daughter, Amera. Jess is attending school for a career in the medical field, and Amera keeps her pretty busy the rest of the time!
Amera turns 1 yr old in December, and she is already walking and talking- and showing a bit of her mothers attitude at times!
You know = that mothers curse = ?!!
Another photo of Amera.
We were fortunate to be able to have the entire family together in March, 2007. Amera Marie Miller was baptised at our home Church; Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church in Roxbury, NY. She was baptised by Pastor Rich Dykstra; the same Pastor who confirmed her mother and her uncles!
It was a wonderful celebration for everyone!
Gus Schwabe, MA, DVM
Gus and I met in a little town in Upstate, NY, called Laurens.
I was working as an office manager/groomer for a Veterinary Hospital; Gus came in to do relief work while my boss took a much needed vacation. The rest, as they say, is history.
This year we celebrate 9 years of marraige.
We moved to eastern PA the summer following our wedding; as much as we both loved the mountains of New York, we felt it was better for us and for the kids to move.
Upstate New York is a great place to vacation, but a tough place to make a living!
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Our entire family enjoys vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC. The kids have been going there since they were young children; it is a big part of their memory banks!
Gus is an avid golfer; I am an avid sun/beach worshiper- so its the most natural place in the world for us to go to get away! Gus tolerates the sun and beach stuff- and the shopping; I pretend to play golf- and we have a wonderful time there together!
A few years ago, we had the chance to take Kody to Myrtle Beach with us, and I introduced him to the finer points of picking up shells; while Gus taught him about making sand castles!
Official Puppy Socializers at Work
Because I believe that puppies need to be introduced to the real world at a young age, my grandchildren hold the title of "Official Puppy Socializers"
The puppies love having the kids around to play with, and the kids do a wonderful job with them.
Actually, I think they kind of like their "jobs"
