Welcome to the Ladies page

The strength in any breeding program is in the quality of the bitches.  I am very happy with the girls I have now. I owe a debt of gratitude to all of the breeders over the years that have shared their promising young bitches with me.

I have always strived to produce Cardigans with excellant temperaments, first and foremost.  Without a solid temperament, even the most beautiful of dogs is not a credit to the breed!

In these girls, I have found the most wonderful personalities, combined with great breed type and soundness.  I feel very lucky to have this depth of quality in my breeding program!

Ch Rhys Xtacee Wednesday Morn

(Ch Phi-Vestavia Uriel of Caerleon HT x Ch Phi-Vestavia Katie N Th Morn ROM)

Litter sister to our Main Man, George, Wednesday has proven to be the ultimate Diva Dog!

Preferring the comfort of home to the show ring, Wednesday still managed to finish her Championship in Grand Style, and in her very brief specials career, aquired three BOS to her brother George and two BOS in Specialty wins!

Wednesday has produced some very lovely, typey correct Cardigans for us, and her children and grandchildren are making their presence well known in different venues.  Wednesday will have one last litter in the fall of 2008, and then she will retire from the "working world"; except for an occasional trip to the elementary school to visit the kids, or a walk around the yard to keep the other puppies in line.

BISS Am/ Can Ch Xtacee Moonlight Serenade

(BISS Am/Can Ch Phi-Vestavia Neon Black HT, ROM x Ch Phi-Vestavia Visavrs Ula Mauna)

Sera holds a very special place in my heart.  From the day her eyes opened and she got on her feet- this little girl has let the entire world know she is special stuff!  Excellant front and rear angles, level topline, beautiful headpiece and fluid on the move; even with her "diva" attitude, she has managed to catch the eye of breeders, breeder/judges and all rounders alike.

Sera finished both her American championship in style; shown only at specialties and supported entries, she finished with all majors- her first just a few days past her 6 month birthday at her first dog show!

She finished her Canadian Championship undefeated in one weekend- three days- three judges!

Shown as a special only a handful of times that first year,  she was awarded several BOB's, a Group III, and a regional specialty AOM.

2008 brought us some wonderful suprises; a large Regional supported entry BOB- Best Blue Bitch in the Megan at the CWCCA National Specialty; a Herding Group I; a large Regional Specialty Best in Show-- and we've just been taking her out one weekend a month!

Sera will continue to be shown on a very limited basis, to select judges- and as always, breeder/owner handled!

Breeding plans are still in the works- its just so hard to find the perfect gentleman for a girl this nice!

Grangefield Aberdovy Vespers at Xtacee

(BISS Am/Can Ch Phi-Vestavia Neon Black HT, CGC, ROM x BISS Ch Grangefield Aberdovy Lymric)

"Vesper" is the newest addition to the Xtacee family, and comes to us from Shirley Hobbs (Grangefield) and Sue Stockslager (Aberdovy).  We are truly honored to have this lovely little girl with us!

Sired by our own Nicky, we can already see the wonderful temperament and attitude of her father, and the silhouette and fluid movement of her mother.

Vespers very first dog show was the 2008 CWCCA National Specialty, where she placed 3rd behind her sister and half sister in the Sweepstakes (Thank you judge Vivian Moran) and 2nd behind her litter sister, Vanity,  in the 6-9 Puppy bitches class (Thank you judge Leah James)! (Note- Vanity went on to win Winners Bitch and Best Puppy)  Not too bad for a willful little girl who had yet to decide she was going to walk on that lead!!

Vespers very first "real" All-Breed Dog show weekend was very typical of Vespers "over the top" performance!  She came home with Winners Bitch/Best of Winners and Best of Breed over Specials AND a pull in the Adult Herding Group at her first dog show!

Vesper has a beautiful front, lovely angles and a correct silhouette, very much like her half-sister, Sera.  She has also inherited both parents stunning side picture on the move.  We have high hopes for the little black bombshell!

Ch. UlaMauna Xtacee Yahoo Doray

UlaMauna Xtacee YahooDorAy

(BIS/BISS Am/Can Ch Rhys Sunday With George CGC x BISS Ch UlaMauna Panda Bear)

Dora may be small- but she is MIGHTY!  Dora combines her moms attitude and her dads ability to twist you around her little paw-- there are few that will not fall in love with this little spitfire!

And just to prove how special Dora is;  Dora went to the VFKC match in February at just 3 months of age and came home with the Best Puppy In Match rosette- over an entry of 200+ puppies!

Dora has a beautiful body, and excellent angles.  She has lovely side gait, with a level topline and correct tail set and carraige.

Dora recently finished her AKC Championship, and while she is growing up, she is enjoying Obedience class with her mom, Lisa!

We are planning an early 2009 romance for Dora, once she has passed all of her health clearances, of course.

Ula Mauna Hot Lickity Lips

"Fiona" is on lease to us, from Kathy Tanquay of Debonaire.  A half-sister to our own "Sera" (through their dam, Ch Phi-Vestavia Visvrsa UlaMauna), Fiona came to Xtacee with plans for a mid-winter romantic rendevous. A few months at Kathys Corgi Spa, and Fiona is in beautiful condition- so much so that she was WB for a 4 pt major! Fiona is an absolute LOVE to live with- PRA clear and OFA Good; PennHip in the 90th percentile!
